About Ginnie
Starting therapy, or even thinking about starting, can be overwhelming. I aim to make mental healthcare more accessible by creating a safe, accepting, and judgment-free space where people can develop strategies for personal growth, process past or current traumas, or seek support during challenging life transitions. I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy. This means I’ll meet you where you are, and we’ll work together to create a treatment plan that best meets your goals. I’ll follow your lead and your pace.
My therapeutic approach is an integrative, trauma-informed approach drawing from solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, CBT, ACT, and IFS. As an ordained minister, I also believe that the body, mind, soul/heart are connected, and understand those who want to integrate faith and mental healthcare.
Through my spiritual care work and as a second-generation immigrant, I understand the complexities of family systems and the confusion that comes with living in a multi-cultural family. I have extensive experience working with first-generation and second-generation immigrants as well as immigrant families. Cultural sensitivity and experience working with multigenerational immigrant families enable me to provide empathetic, compassionate care.
I have experience working with grief, loss, trauma, cultural identity, emotional overwhelm, chronic health issues, family systems, existentialism, betrayal, guilt, shame, and spiritual struggles.
My goal in therapy is to create a safe and warm environment where you can explore the hard feelings, heal, and build resilience.
